Joshua, the son, is finishing up his Junior year of High School (May 2022).

During the beginning of the Pandemic, Spring of 2019, he had remote school for a few weeks to finish out the school year (Freshman year).  For the 2020-2021 school year, our school system offered the parents a choice whether their student would appear in person for school or continue with remote classes.  We discussed it with Josh and since he was to take Drivers Ed and Welding (which are both hands on classes), he went to school each day for in person learning.  The school was fantastic and took many extra measures to keep our students safe.

Of course, when Spring Break rolled around in 2021, a lot of things were still closed and there were so many limitations to what you could do and where you could go.  Each year Sarah and I take her Spring Break and have a girls week; then Paul & Josh have a boys week for Josh's Spring Break each year.  I was able to get them a cabin in Tennessee, they stocked up on things to cook and just hung out in the cabin and went out and explored nature; they enjoyed their time though.

Josh mentioned to me during the Summer of 2021 that he always goes on vacation with Dad and wants to go with me sometime.  He also said he did not remember much about the trips we used to take to Michigan (where I grew up).  We used to go annually to my brothers for 2 weeks when the kids got out of school, but we haven't been in a long time.  I told him that Summer 2022 he and I would take a trip to Michigan, he was thrilled.  Then Sarah and I took our Road Trip and he got to hear all about it and the experiences.  He was a little bummed that Sarah and I got to do something so out of the ordinary for us and had so much fun.

Spring Break 2022 rolled around for him and he and Paul were supposed to go to the mountains again.  They REALLY wanted to go to out west but that requires flying since Spring Break is only 1 week long and flying right now is NuTs.  BUT....Josh's Spring Break was spent at home.  Paul ended up having to have Heart By-Pass Surgery.

SO....Our trip to Michigan has now grown into a Road Trip.  We have picked out our sights to see and plan to be gone about 2 weeks and will be taking an North-Easterly Route to Michigan and then back South, about 4,000 Miles.

Check back daily to see what beautiful things we were able to see and the fun things we were able to experience.
