Why a road trip with no final destination?
So we can see the beautiful sights of the country.

Why no reservations?
So we aren't bound by a rigid schedule on our trip.

Sarah, the daughter, went to University of West Alabama for Undergrad - Forensic Chemistry & Anthropology. Then she went to The University of Southern Mississippi for her Masters in Archaeology. She graduates May 2022. A couple summers ago she was hired by the State of Michigan, through a professor with one of the colleges there - to work a dig inside the fort at Fort Michilimackinac in Northern Michigan, practically under the Mackinaw Bridge.

She needed her car for the summer, but hadn't driven a trip more than just a few hours and this would take her 20+ hours. So I drove up with her and flew home and then did it in reverse at the end of the summer.

I was born and raised in Michigan and am now living in South Alabama, down on the Gulf of Mexico. What a climate difference!!! I sooooo miss Michigan summers!

Sarah's brother, Joshua and I will be taking a road trip the summer of 2022. Be sure to check out our photos from that trip. We'll be spending some time in this same area that Sarah worked in, since Josh has never been here.

Sarah has also worked a dig site in Poland and has spent a short amount of time in Germany and Ireland (but not for work). I'll have to see if I can wrangle up her photos from those trips and put them on here for you to enjoy.
